The LD30 is a strong light, made from aluminum that is durable and given a hard-anodized finish alongside the knurling on the body to make use with bare hands keep from rubbing the skin raw. The 18650 battery will get hot over a long use.

That battery also powers the LED to shoot up to 1600 lumens out to 205 meters. The LD30 uses a tailcap switch for power, with mode selection being controlled by the switch on the body.
