The XT21X is powered by an included 21700 5000mAh battery, rechargeable in the light through the Micro-USB port. This battery powers the CREE XHP70.2 P2 LED to shoot 4000 lumens out to 316 meters for 1.2 hours. Control is done through two switches, one on the tailcap and the other on the side of the head.

This light is machined from aluminum alloy, and given an anti-slip design to keep the XT21X steady. The body is also durable and stands up to water quite well, rated to IPX8 standard.
